LEWISBURG, Pa. – No. 4 Holy Cross completed a two-game sweep over top-seeded Army West Point, and No. 2 Bucknell defeated No. 3 Navy in Game 1 of the 2026 Patriot League Baseball Championship semifinals Sunday.
The defending champion Crusaders advanced to the Patriot League Championship Series for the second straight season with a 6-2 victory over the Black Knights, as RHP Jake Lenahan earned the win, allowing two runs on four hits with nine strikeouts through a career-long 7.1 innings. DH Gianni Royer went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs, and 3B Ryan Grundy went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
No. 2 Bucknell exploded for a season-high 16 runs, plating six in the fourth and five in the sixth inning to take a one-game advantage over No. 3 Navy with a 16-4 win in Game 1 of the best-of-three-game series. 3B Zach Selfon drove in four runs, and SS Ty Lagoni finished with three RBIs and scored four times, while RHP Jackson Schultz earned the win, allowing three runs over 6.0 innings.
The third-seeded Midshipmen will look to avoid elimination in Game 2 against the second-seeded Bison on Monday, May 11. Live coverage on ESPN+ is scheduled for 1 p.m. from Depew Field at Marren Park in Lewisburg, Pa.
No. 4 Holy Cross awaits the winner of the Bison - Midshipmen series to set the matchup for the best-of-three Patriot League Baseball Championship Series at the home site of the highest-remaining seed. WEST POINT, N.Y. – Holy Cross RHP Jake Lenahan tossed a career-long 7.1 innings, allowing two runs on four hits with nine strikeouts to earn the win as the fourth-seeded Crusaders defeated No. 1 Army West Point, 6-2, to complete a two-game sweep and advance to the Patriot League Championship Series for the second straight season.
*DH Gianni Royer batted 3-for-5 with a solo home run and three RBIs, while 3B Ryan Grundy went 2-for-2 with two RBIs to lead the defending League champion Crusaders’ offense.
*Two-time Patriot League Player of the Year CJ Egrie got Holy Cross started early, leading off the game with a double and scoring three batters later on Royer’s double to take a 1-0 lead.
*Lenahan retired the first 11 Black Knights batters, allowing just two baserunners through the first five innings.
*The Crusaders tacked on three runs in the fifth inning on a one-run single from Royer and a two-run double by Grundy.
*Patriot League Rookie of the Year Josiah Overbeek hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning, his second homer of the series, to cut the lead in half.
*Holy Cross added runs in the final two frames, as Braden Connors singled to score Grundy in the eighth before Royer capped the win with a solo home run in the ninth inning. Connors went 3-for-5 at the plate.
*Crusaders’ RHP Pedro Leon tossed a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save.
*Army West Point SS Thomas Schreck and LF William Parker each went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Black Knights.

*Navy answered in the top of the fifth inning, as Hooten’s two-run home run put the Mids on the board for the first time.
*Bucknell scored five more runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a three-run triple from Lagoni to stretch the Bison’s lead to 16-3.
*Navy LF Chris Klug singled to drive in Hooten in the top of the seventh inning to provide the Mids’ final offense of the day.
