Patriot League Golfers of the Week Announced (4.16.25)

Loyola Maryland’s Roman and Boston University’s Han collect weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa.Loyola Maryland senior Jackson Roman and Boston University sophomore Amy Han were named Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Week, respectively, when the League office announced honors on Wednesday.  
 
The Greyhound’s Roman won his second Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Week this season, shooting a 4-over par 217 (72-73-72) to finish tied for 25th in a competitive field at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial at the par-71 Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Va.
 
Boston University’s Han received Patriot League Women’s Golfer of the Week for the first time this season after earning individual medalist honors at the Navy Spring Invitational at the par-72 U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club. The reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Year shot a 3-under par 141 (71-70) in the final tournament before the Patriot League Championship.
 
Holy Cross sophomore Thomas O’Neill, Lafayette junior Harry Dessel, Navy junior Sue Lee and sophomore Emma Tang received honorable mentions for their performances.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Jackson Roman, Loyola Maryland, Sr., Berlin, Conn./Hamden Hall Country Day
*Roman shot a 4-over par 217 (72-73-72) to finish tied for 25th out of 72 at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial at the par-71 Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Va.
*The senior tied with the No. 43 player in NCAA DI in a competitive field that included eight players ranked in the top 130. The Greyhounds finished 11th in a field that included three teams ranked in the top 30, with Florida State (No. 11), Virginia (No. 13) and Northwestern (No. 27).
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Amy Han, Boston University, So., Dalian, China/King’s College (New Zealand)
*Han earned individual medalist honors at the Navy Spring Invitational by shooting a 3-under par 141 (71-70) at the par-72 U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md.
*She led the Terriers to a first-place finish with a team score of 18-over par 594 (299-295) in a field that included Patriot League rivals Navy and Holy Cross.

Thomas O’Neill, Holy Cross, So., Oradell, N.J./Bergen Catholic
*O’Neill shot an even-par 210 (70-73-67) to finish tied for third at the Shark Invitational at the par-70 Brookville Country Club in Glen Head, N.Y. O’Neill helped the Crusaders to a fourth-place team finish out of 12 teams.
 
Harry Dessel, Lafayette, Jr., Barrington, R.I./Moses Brown
*Dessel tied for third at the Shark Invitational by shooting an even-par 210 (71-72-67) at the par-70 Brookville Country Club in Glen Head, N.Y. Dessel helped the Leopards to a fifth-place finish out of 12 squads.
 
Emma Tang, Navy, So., Chino Hills, Calif./Chino Hills
*Tang tied for fifth place by shooting a 4-over par 148 (75-73) at the Navy Spring Invitational to help the Mids finish second among the nine-team field.
 
Sue Lee, Navy, Jr., Lorton, Va./Hayfield
*Lee tied for fifth place after firing a 4-over par 148 (76-72) among the 54 golfers at the Navy Spring Invitational. She helped the Mids to a second-place finish out of nine teams.
