Patriot League Announces Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Week (9.24.25)

Navy’s Tarzy and Bucknell’s Bardunias claim weekly honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy senior Jack Tarzy and Bucknell sophomore Sophia Bardunias were named Patriot League Men’s and Credit Union 1 Women’s Golfer of the Week, respectively, when the League office announced honors on Wednesday.  
 
Tarzy captured Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Week after shooting an 8-under par 205 (66-71-68) to earn medalist honors at The Goat at the par-71 U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md.
 
Bardunias received Patriot League Credit Union 1 Women’s Golfer of the Week after finishing seventh at the Nittany Lion Invitational by shooting a 3-over par 219 (70-73-76) at the par-72 Penn State Golf Club in State College, Pa. Bardunias is the third different Bison to claim honors this season.
 
Boston University junior Amy Han, Holy Cross junior Ryan Scollins, Lehigh senior Jake Roth, Loyola Maryland sophomore Diego Neira and Navy sophomore Vivian Cressman received honorable mentions for their play last week.
 
Patriot League Men’s Golfer of the Week
Jack Tarzy, Navy, Sr., Medford, N.J./The Hun School
*Tarzy earned medalist honors for the first time in his career by shooting a 54-hole score of 8-under par 205 (66-71-68) at the par-71 U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md.
*He recorded the third-lowest 54-hole score in relation to par in program history and the lowest since 2021.
*The Medford, N.J. native helped the Mids to a second-place finish out of 16 teams, behind League rival Loyola Maryland.
 
Patriot League Credit Union 1 Women’s Golfer of the Week
Sophia Bardunias, Bucknell, So., Monte Vista/San Ramon, Calif.
*Bardunias tied for seventh out of 90 competitors at the par-72 Nittany Lion Invitational by shooting a 3-over par 219 (70-73-76) at the Penn State Golf Club in State College, Pa.
*The sophomore’s first round score of 2-under par 70 matched the third-lowest mark in team history.
*She has placed in the top 10 in each of Bucknell’s three tournaments this season.

Amy Han, Boston University, Jr., Dallan, China/King’s College (New Zealand)
*Han led the Terriers in their season opener at the Red Bandana Invitational by shooting a 14-over par 230 (76-75-79) to tie for 22nd place out of 84 competitors at the par-72 Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass.
 
Ryan Scollins, Holy Cross, Jr., Wrentham, Mass./Xaverian Brothers
*Scollins shot a 3-over par 145 (72-73) to finish tied for 17th out of 75 golfers at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate at the par-71 Wethersfield Country Club in Wethersfield, Conn.
 
Jake Roth, Lehigh, Sr., Rockville, Md./Bullis School
*Roth finished second out of 72 players by shooting a 1-under par 209 (67-66-76) at the Temple Invitational, hosted at The 1912 Club (par-70). He helped the Mountain Hawks finish tied for second out of 13 teams.  
 
Diego Neira, Loyola Maryland, So., Caracas, Venezuela/Yale College
*Neira finished fourth at The Goat by shooting a 1-over par 214 (71-72-71) at the par-71 U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md. He led the Greyhounds to a five-stroke team win in a field that included Navy, Lafayette, Colgate and Bucknell.
 
Vivian Cressman, Navy, So., Middleton, Wis./Middleton
*Cressman tied for 11th out of 90 golfers at the Nittany Lion Invitational at the par-72 Penn State Golf Club. She shot a 4-over par 220 (73-75-72).
